Roman Okonowski proposed James Bacci as
a possible new member. He is an attorney that practices in
the area of wills and trusts. Roman checked with both Chris
Curran and Chuck Hultstrand and there is no conflict. James
is very interested in joining our group. Roman will get part
I of the membership application completed.

NEW MEMBERS |
-
The Initiation
Dues of $150 and the usual quarterly (pro-rated) dues of
$150 will apply.
-
A New Member can recoup that
Initiation Fee by using other MABE
member services.
-
The New Member is given up to 6
months to use other MABE member
services to recoup the $150
Initiation Fee. They can do this any number
of times if
they like, with a $25 minimum repayment (6 X 25 = 150) OR
a
single use of service getting ALL of the $150 initiation fee
back at one
time.
-
A receipt from the service will be
required and given to our Treasurer in
order to obtain the
repayment. This will keep it simple for any of our
MABE
businesses to conduct business in the usual way.
|
|
NEW MEMBER SPONSOR REWARD |

Mighty Minute
Paul Kavanaugh of Mountain Moving & Storage and
National Van Lines gave today's Mighty Minute. They are a
full service company offering any kind of move you can think of.
Just recently they moved computers from one office to another
for a client. They also move entire offices. They
can handle large Honeywell-size moves requiring 50-60 men or
small scale moves needing only 3 guys. They do household
moves. They can move you across town or across the
country. They can even move your furniture into a truck in
your front yard while you have your floors redone. They
can pick it up, pack it up, move it out and set it up again or a
any combination of the four. They can move just about
anything. They moved chairs for a local church and hauled
heavy equipment across country for another client. No job
is too big or too small. They can move you auto using any
method you prefer (on trailer, in trailer, climate controlled,
etc). If your move is out of or into the country, they can
even handle the import/export licenses for you. As a
bonus, if a MABE member makes a referral using Van Lines, MABE
will get up to $100 referral bonus.
Question of the Day
What have you found to be the
most effective way to get rid of spam email?
-
Mike Whalen - Our web hosting company has a very
expensive spam filter on their servers. You can choose the
level of protection you want. But you have to go through
the spam folder once in a while to make sure you didn't miss a
legit email.
-
Ralph Cunningham - Download Spam Pal. It
is free and easy to use. There are other programs out
their but this appears to be the easiest to use. It tags
items as spam when they come into your box.
-
George Booth - Yahoo has a spam detector that
works well.
-
Denver Johnson - AOL has an effective tool as
well.
-
Sandro Menasci - You can also setup rules in
Outlook but as Ralph Cunningham pointed out, they are getting
sneaky and know how to get around the rules. Instead of
including keywords, they use images with text.
Main Speaker
Lisa A. Schnaidt D.M.D.
Lisa was born and raised in the Mohave Desert of Southern
California. Her parents were chicken ranchers until Lisa
was in 4th grade. Then her father followed his dreams of
doing fireworks and special effects. They converted their
ranch into a fireworks plant began their new career.
Lisa's dad has officially retired from the business which has
left the family in a bit of a predicament. The EPA is not
happy about them having so many deadly explosives in their
possession and they are not making it easy for them to dispose
of it. The family is now having to approach the matter
through homeland security.
Lisa graduated high school in 1972 and went on
to the University of California Irvine where, in 1976, she
majored in biology and chemistry. She applied to 35
schools of dentistry and was accepted to 5. She enrolled
in the closest one...St. Louis. The next four years
were very long. But Lisa finally graduated in 1982 and
moved to Arizona with her new husband.
After one year working for Cigna and the HMO
system, Lisa could stand it no more. She put on her best
duds and went to the bank to get business loan. She opened
her first Arizona practice in Cottonwood where she spent the
next 17 years. Her marriage ended after her husband went
to Desert Storm and met someone else.
Lisa decided to move here to be closer to
family. She again put on her best duds and went to the
bank. She got a new loan and bought an existing practice.
The practice has been building steadily. She took a hit
after 9-11 but things are coming back again. She has
cleared up some major problems in the office and is now ready to
start focusing on advertising.
And now to the fun
stuff...Periodontal Disease!
Bacteria lives in our mouths. Some
bacteria is harmful and some is mild. It is important for
Lisa to know about your health in order to safely treat you.
Periodontal disease can be deadly if combined with other
diseases if not appropriately handled. If after seeing a
dentist, you feel feverish, mild chills, joint pain or just feel
lousy, see a doctor immediately.
Lisa discussed the problems associated with
victims of Hodgkin's Disease and breast cancer that received
radiation treatment in the chest area. Their heart valves
have become damaged. Same with users of Fen Fen. The
bacteria in the mouth circulates to the blood stream and affects
the heart putting those with existing damage in even more
danger.
People with prosthetics should also take caution
when having dental work done. The bacteria clings to the
foreign object in the body and causes damage which could result
in needing replacement surgery.
In dental school, students are told to expect 6
deaths in their office. Lisa has not had any deaths but
several close calls. She has called the paramedics on a
few occasions. And on one unfortunate day, she treated a
close friend who then went across the street to Wendy's for a
bite before heading back to Cottonwood. He died in the
bathroom of the restaurant.

and treatment,
