This week's
leads focus...
Business Spotlight
Lisa Wolfe was today's Spotlight.
Things in her business change daily and sometimes even hourly.
She often hears comments that advertising doesn't work.
But we are influenced by it whether we realize it or not.
If it isn't working for your business then you either (1) picked
the wrong venue, (2) targeted the wrong audience, or (3) stopped
because you didn't have enough money. This is where Lisa
can help you. She can identify what advertising will work
for you. She specializes in radio and television
advertising but can offer much more. One suggestion was a
wrapping fleet. You can cover two fleet vehicles with
advertising for the cost of one billboard. And it is a
one-time expense that may only need to be updated every couple
of years. To get Lisa leads consider the following.
Who do you know who...
-
needs direction and guidance?
-
needs to take their advertising to the
next level?
-
is growing or expanding their business?
-
had a bad experience?
And while you are thinking about it....Who do
you know that is good at sales and needs a job? Lisa has two
sales positions available.
Notable Mentions
We will print new brochures within the
next 60 days. Please make sure to submit any updates

their spots. You must have been a member in good

- Speeches will be given on August
12th.
- Elections will be held on August
19th.
- The new board and president will
take over September 9th.
Today Phil Passante and Denver Johnson
were nominated. The floor will be open again next week
for more nominations.

Cunningham
Computer Service
Ralph has always been into electronics.
It started in 8th grade with amateur radio. He drove his
neighbors crazy but he had fun doing it. His latest hobby
is converting videos.
Did you ever wonder what got the internet
going? Sad to say it was pornography. But then
businesses got into the game and the rest is history.
Unfortunately, the increased usage of the
internet was accompanied by an increase in malicious scams.
The latest is phishing and pharming. They are another way
for scammers to separate you from your money. Phishing is
where they send you an email and try to trick you into clicking
on the link in the body. They may look like they are
coming from a legitimate source such as Wells Fargo but they are
only copy cats. A sure way to tell is by looking at the
address bar. Do you see numbers or the site name? If
you see numbers you have been hooked. If you still have
not figured out the game and proceed to enter personal
information, you have just been a victim of pharming. You
just gave the scammers all the information they need to steal
your money. For more information on phishing and pharming
go to
www.prnewswire.com.
There are some things to do to protect
against the different scams. Do not click on the
"unsubscribe" links in emails. By doing this you let the
scammers know that your email address is valid and you just
became worth more money to them.
Go to the advance option of your browser and
turn off the "install on demand" option. If you don't, any
site can cause a malicious program to load onto your computer
even without your knowledge.
You can also try internet filtering.
There are different methods. Rating systems don't work.
Content screening doesn't work well either. Scammers get
around text screening by using images. Web server filters
do a good job of rejecting sites that are not safe. Visit
www.dmaconsumers.org/guidetocontrolsoftware.html and
www.dmaconsumers.org/consumerassistance.html for
information on protecting your children from malicious sites.
