Jim is a man with a lot of family
pride. This morning he passed around photos of his family. Included
were photos of his two extremely intelligent daughters.
Jim is a native of Phoenix. He was
the only kid at school that could wear white socks with sandals instead
of the required school attire. It was because of a skin condition
he had. He also had severe allergies. He stayed home a lot in the
afternoon because he was drowsy from the allergy medicine. He was
banned from the school playground for throwing rocks so he had to go
home everyday for lunch.
His family was in the ice cream
business. Jim used to help out during his summer break. He told us all
about the process which included hypnotism, long hours and sweating in
freezing temperatures. He and his older brother did not see
eye-to-eye on things so instead of taking over the family business from
their dad, it was sold in 1984.
During his pre-law years, Jim and his
classmates were told that only 15% of them would become lawyers.
Jim had bad grades that first year. He was disappointed about his
chances of becoming a lawyer. But his dad said to him "What's your
problem Jim? Be in the 15%."
Jim's dad always wanted to
fly. Jim also became interested in flying as a young boy. He took
lessons and had his first solo flight at 16 years of age. His dad
bought a plane. Jim has it now.
My practice... What value do I add to
the products and services I provide? With me you know it will
be done right. I have the experience. After graduating, I spent 5
years with a firm before going out on my own in 1985.
