Some people are easier to interview than others.
Sandro is one of them. He always has an interesting
answer. He is one of the most tenacious people I know.
(Greg stewart)
Sandro was born in Rome, Italy. His family moved to
Montreal, Canada when he was 10 years old. He got his degree
from the University of Montreal. Has a wonderful wife, Arlene,
and two sons that he is very proud of. Both are very
successful working at Intel. He also has three grandchildren
that he loves dearly.
He has only been back to the "old country" once. He is
still an Italian citizen.
He came to Phoenix because his brothers and nephew had moved
here.
He would have liked to have been an architect. But life is
funny. He was literally born in a garage. His dad was a
mechanic.
Greg Stewart went to Sandro's service station in Canada for the
same reason everyone here does today. You could trust him and
he was a likeable guy.
He is
"trying" to retire. Arlene works at the shop on Monday.
She helps out at her grandsons class on Tuesday. She used to
be a teacher. This morning they were debating on whether to go
to work or not. Sandro has set it up so that his guys can
handle most situations without him. It takes a long time to
put a good crew together. He has a crew now that he cares
about and they care about him.
He has been through lots of changes. He must constantly
keep up with technology. Cars are a lot more complicated.
You need to have a bigger facility to offset costs. You have
to buy scanners and computers to work on all the different cars.
Sandro has accomplished a lot in his life. One thing Sandro
has not done but would like to do is go heli-skiing with his sons.
But it is costly and you could get up there and not be able to ski.
Sandro has dealt with a lot of adversity in his life, both
business and personal. His advice on dealing with
adversity...stay calm and analyze the situation.
What has life taught him? Patience.
