Member Spotlight
This week's spotlight is
Mark Menasci. Please keep this member top of mind
this week for referrals.
As promised...

that have occurred at his branch. He touched on the
highlights.
Social Update
Janice Jaicks is putting together a happy hour at Cactus Moon (dance floor,
pool tables, tvs). That might be a good place to have the next
happy hour. More details on both events to come. 5:30
will send email
Board Update
Althea Bussert will come on to the board as a MABE historian.
To maintain the correct odd, count we will not need to have
elections.
We discussed possibly doing a small postcard marketing piece for
MABE. Since there was a majority interest, the board will
pursue it further. We will also make it a downloadable piece
that can be printed or forwarded on via email.

Today's Program - Achieving
Your Goals, Dave Lathrop
Today is about achieving your goals. Dave
introduced a tool that they used successfully in the Phoenix Youth
at Risk program. To begin you must be clear on what is at
stake. The point is train yourself to achieve your goals.
Reasons people fail include not considering what is
at stake, not have structure and dragging along the past.
Dave used the member goals announced at the last
meeting to explain how to set yourself up for success. A goal
is a project. A project is a series of promises. A
promise involves some risk as opposed to something that is going to
happen anyway. A promise is also clearly defined - specific
and measureable. How many promises are you going to have to
make to complete your project? It helps to have milestones.
A problem we all have is that there is only 24-hours
in a day. We already have those hours filled. We need to
determine what we are willing to give up in order to achieve our
goals. Is that goal worth giving something up for? It
comes back to determining what is at stake.
The Challenge: Partner up with on person.
Spend 10 minutes going over the Goal Worksheet and then call you
partner to talk about it. Coaching is key.
Goal Worksheet
What is your goal?
What is the experience you want?
What are the specific measurable results of your
goal (List 5).
By when will you reach your goals? (Date and time)
Promises you will make to achieve your goal (List
5).
Have you struggled in the past with this or similar
goals? (Specifically what are those past behaviors that have been
obstacles in completing your goals?)
What are you willing to give up to reach your goal?
(How will you spend your time differently?)
Who will you Trust to Support you and by when will
you speak with them? This requires sharing the specific details of
your goal. The more people you share your goal with the
greater your likelihood of success.
