Today's Program - The Seven Levels of Communication: Going From Relationships to Referrals
Presented by Nick Car; Based on the book by Michael J. Maher

Nick Carr lead a discussion on the concepts presented in this book.

What would it take for us to be the go-to-person for others?  To do this, people have to get to know us and our business.  A successful referral based business needs to be good at communicating.

How do we do it?

Leading with a giving hand.  It should always be in our mind, "What can I do to help that person out?"  We need to learn how to be connectors for other people.

The pyramid below shows the different zones...

We should be spending 80% of our time in the influential zone.  The problem is trying to manage our day.  We have to plan the time.  We need to use our calendars more and take control of our days so we can be more productive.

Database management is how you communicate with your clients.  You should classify your contacts by the group that they fit into.  The A+ clients are ambassadors that refer you most.  Champions refer you at least once a year.  The next group are potential referrers. Then you have your friends and family.  The last group are the group of people that won't refer you or you don't want them to.

Learn to delegate and let go of tasks that don't make you any money.

A word of caution, don't become discouraged.
