Learning & Sharing
Jeff Sutherlin shared some things he learned from a seminar this
week. They talked about the niches and true value propositions
that different successful companies employ. To be very clear
about your value proposition you need to take you best client out to
lunch and ask them the hard questions. If you are competing on
price you are nothing more than a commodity. You may need to
change your marketing strategy in order to show your true value.
New Payment Option
There is a new payment option available for paying your dues.
On your next invoice you will see a link to the Intuit Payment
Network (IPN) where you can initiate a bank-to-bank funds transfer.
There is not fee to the member. It is quick and easy to use.
Today's Program - Dr. Shawn Vigneau, Valley Wide
Health Centers
Shawn is original from a large family in Michigan. He grew
up knowing he wanted to be a chiropractor. He hurt his back
really bad at 16-years of age. He had to take shots and was
told he would need surgery. This is when he was introduced to
a chiropractor. He got him better. He always got good
grades but just to get good grades not to learn. But that
changed when he entered chiropractic school. He wanted to
learn. He does join in the jokes about "not being a real
doctor" but he believes in what he does. People don't always
realize the benefit until they experience it first hand.
Shawn is part of a group called Valley Wide Health
Centers (VWHC). They loan you the start up money and help you
with your business.
Insurance has cut chiropractic care by as much as
75%. Many chiropractors will go out of business as a result.
His group is redesigning their model to compensate. They are
transitioning to include more medical. Shawn explained how the
insurance companies are changing the way things are done.
Different chiropractors' have varying philosophies about how to do
things. They cannot agree, there is conflict. So there
is not one large national association that can fight the changes on
their behalf.
VWHC offers different tiers of marketing for their
clinics which is why Shawn likes them. For example, they offer
a free message, X-rays and exam. They also offer coupons.
Their biggest thing is business-to-business. They try to build
referrals with other doctors. The VWHC marketing team will
only go into companies with 20 or more people. But the
individual centers may go into smaller facilities.
Shawn does all types of adjustments depending on
what the patient needs or prefers. The x-rays will show him
what not to adjust.
He is moving from Gilbert to Tempe to join another
clinic. There will be three independent chiropractors
practicing at that clinic. They do share the same philosophies
about care.
