HANDOUT: 
The board followed up on last month's discussion of a new member handout.  The agreed to make it available to hand out by the end of month.

NOTEBOOK: 
The handout is different from the notebook which is given to new members after they join.  At the next general meeting, the board will ask members if there anyone who hasn't received the notebook.

HOLIDAY PARTY: 
Everything is handled for the party.

MEMBER INTERACTION: 
The board discussed ideas to further the interaction of members.  Not all members are able to schedule buddy lunches.  Open houses were discussed as an option.  The board will ask members if they would like to sponsor one.  Since a lot of work can go into preparing for an open house, members would be encouraged to attend.  The board will ask the group for other ideas during a "Question of the Day" segment.

BOARD COMPENSATION: 
The board discussed waiving the dues of for the President during his or her term. It was agreed that this was fair considering the amount of time and responsibility that goes with the position.

ELECTIONS: 
The board discussed upcoming elections.  It will need to be determine when elections should be held and who is going off the board.  The board discussed the need for better balance on the board by having including both new members and older members.  The board also discussed encouraging members to accept nominations.

CORPORATE COMMISSION REPORT: 
The board completed the corporate commission report. 

GUEST SPEAKER SUGGESTIONS: 
The group discussed appropriate guest speakers.  It was agreed to stay with speakers that would talk about business-related issues.

ATTENDANCE: 
There are a few members that have violated the attendance bylaws.  Dave Lathrop will call each one to check on their situation.

HONORARY MEMBERS: 
The board discussed inviting past members to the holiday party.  Dave Coyne and his wife were invited.  Dave Coyne will receive his presidential plaque at the dinner.  It was also suggested that we have Tim Logan come in and speak about how he founded MABE and its evolution.  Having former members attend events and come in as speakers would be good for new members to see.

The next meeting will be the first Friday in February.  Meeting adjourned.
