Brochures
Stuart Schindler attended the board meeting to discuss the costs
incurred when producing brochures. He provided board
members with historical pricing and explained all changes for
accurate comparison. Dave Lathrop will talk to Lin
Schmelzer about her roll in making future, minor edits to the
brochure.
Board Meetings
We will have two full, quarterly board meetings and
monthly 1/2-hour meetings on Friday mornings after the regular
meeting.
Marketing
The board discussed an email sent by Nick Mawrenko. He
recommended promoting MABE using social networking as discussed
at recent meetings. Further discussion will be needed to
decide which networks to join, how to administer them and if it
will include all member or only those wishing to pay extra to
cover the maintenance fees.
Meeting Location
The price at Skip & Jan's continues to increase. The price
started at $6 and increased to $8 to cover juice. They are
now requesting an additional amount be added for gratuity,
bringing the total per person to $8.65.
Dave Lathrop has checked into the
Mesa Country Club as a possible meeting place.
Membership Criteria
Steve Chilton feels we need to evaluate our membership criteria.
Should we make it easier to become a member or continue to be
selective? We need to think about what type of people we
want in the group.
Attendance & Mentoring
Are we going to enforce attendance or not? Are we going to
enforce promptness? Dave Crissman believes that if we can
improve the quality of meetings then better attendance will
follow. If members are not participating than it is a
lose-lose situation for the member and MABE. The board
agreed to create a
mentoring list. Each board member would be responsible for
encouraging their assigned member to participate.
Financial Discussion
The board reviewed past due accounts. Melissa will print
statements for Dave Lathrop so he can address it with the
individual members. She will also send Dave current budget
numbers so he can make budget projections.
Depending on the projections, we may have a MABE sponsored spring
event.
