Dekavallas Presentation
Follow-up
Board members were asked their thoughts on Gus's presentation at
the last board meeting. It was suggested he could offer it
on the "Specials" section of the website as long as it is a part of his regular
business. MABE needs to consider exposures on the website.
We may need to add a disclaimer in that section that reads items
posted are not endorsed by MABE. It
was agreed that anything posted needs to be reviewed by the board.
Nominations & Extended
Presidential Term
The nomination process begins next week. The board members
elect the officer's and would determine if a president continues
in that position for a second term. It was agreed that
bylaws do not need to be changed. Presidents stay on as
past president for 6 months. The board can make them
president again.
Guest Day
Dave Lathrop suggested a MABE Guest Day where members would be
encouraged to invite guests to join us for breakfast at no
charge. It doesn't have to be a potential member, but it
would be encouraged. We would require RSVP's so we can
make the appropriate food and seating accommodations.
We would also want to make sure the content of the meeting is special.
Although guests are welcome any time (at a $10 fee billed to the
inviting member) a special Guest Day gives people focus.
October 9th was a recommended date.
Mentoring
The board membership chair will be responsible for monitoring new members
for first couple of months to make sure they are doing OK.
Brochure PDF Online
It might be more of a production than anticipated. We need to find out
how much it will cost to maintain a current PDF copy of the
brochure on the internet.
Gifts for Speakers
Mike Whalen provided some ideas. One suggestion was gift
certificates for member services. MABE logo shirts were
also suggested.
Creative Ideas to Bring in New
Members
Dave Lathrop would like to keep the membership momentum
going by coming up with creative ideas. One idea was to
send out a category list again. Roman has ideas on promoting
membership. He will present next week.
