Board Notes:

Member photos will be taken at the next meeting.

The board agreed to wait until January to have a holiday social.

Granison reported that his company is working on the website programming.

The board discussed how to encourage members to invite potential members. 

  • It was suggested that we focus on certain categories.
  • It was suggested the members be asked to right down 3-4 strategic partners.  They would then be told that these people should be considered potential members and invited to a meeting.
  • It was discussed that members need to be held accountable to come up with names during a meeting as they tend not to do it once the leave.
  • It was recommended that we have guest days again. 
  • It was suggested that we a lunch networking meeting where guests are invited.  Their meal could be paid for by the inviting member or by MABE.  There would be a topic that would draw them to the event.

The application process was discussed.  It was agreed that the application should be revamped.  Melissa offered to do this.  The also agreed that the current quick, simplified process of processing members was working (application sent to members, 3-days to contact Melissa with concerns, Melissa contacts potential member to invite them to join as member the following Friday).

It was suggested that 2-3 members take a new member out to lunch right after they join to answer their questions about MABE, expectations, and to make them feel more welcome. 

Granison asked Nick for a follow-up to his idea of a scholarship fund.  Nick mentioned that his original idea took a new form at the last meeting but what the changes discussed were also good ideas to give further consideration.
